Detour Capital terms
Detour Capital, powered by Pronto Loans · NCRCP 10240. A short-term payday loan you pay back in one week, and what Detour does in it.
Effective October 27, 2026
Back to all legal documentsDetour Capital is a short-term payday loan from Pronto Loans, a registered credit provider (NCRCP 10240). Read Pronto Loans' terms and conditions.
These terms are between you and Detour Holdings t/a Detour Limited (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2025/819492/07 ("Detour"). They explain Detour Capital and the part Detour plays in it.
Detour Capital is a short-term payday loan. The lender is Pronto Loans, a registered credit provider (NCRCP 10240). The loan is between you and Pronto Loans. You pay interest and fees on it, and you pay it back in one week.
Detour is not a registered credit provider and is not the lender. Detour sends your request to Pronto Loans, and collects what you owe from your next week's Uber earnings so that Pronto Loans is paid.
How much, and what you pay back
The amount depends on your plan. It is a fixed amount, and you pay it all back in one week:
- On-The-Go: take R500, pay back R720 (R500 + R120 interest and fees + R100 subscription).
- Professional Driver: take R1 000, pay back R1 270 (R1 000 + R120 interest and fees + R150 subscription).
- MyOwnBoss: take R2 500, pay back R2 870 (R2 500 + R120 interest and fees + R250 subscription).
The R120 is the interest and fees Pronto Loans charges for the loan. The subscription is your own plan's weekly fee for that week, for the plan you are on when you take the loan, collected in the same payment. It is not an extra charge. There is no admin fee and nothing else is added.
One week is the only term. There is no option to pay back over two, four or six weeks. After that week your subscription carries on weekly as normal.
The deposit on a valternative electric car or bike
Detour Capital can also lend you most of the deposit on a Valternative electric car or bike. You pay R500 for a car or R225 for a bike upfront, and the loan covers the rest of the deposit: R2 000 for a car, R1 000 for a bike.
You pay it back within a week of getting the vehicle, from your earnings: the amount lent plus R120 interest and fees and the subscription of the plan the vehicle needs. A car needs MyOwnBoss and a bike at least On-The-Go, so that is R2 370 for a car (R2 000 + R120 + R250) and R1 220 for a bike (R1 000 + R120 + R100). After that week the weekly rental and your subscription are both payable every week you have the vehicle. Pronto Loans decides each request, and its own credit agreement governs the loan, as for any other Detour Capital loan.
Asking for it
You ask in the Detour driver app. Detour passes your request, and the details Pronto Loans needs to assess it, to Pronto Loans. You agree to that when you ask.
Pronto Loans decides whether to lend to you. Detour cannot approve a request, and a request is not a promise that you will be paid. Pronto Loans gives you its own pre-agreement quotation and credit agreement, which govern the loan. Read them before you accept.
If Pronto Loans approves, the money is paid into your Detour Drive Account. If it declines, we tell you, and nothing is owed.
Asking again
Detour Capital is there when you need it, one loan at a time. You cannot ask again while an amount is still owing. Once it is paid back, you may ask again whenever you need it, as long as your subscription is active.
If you move to a different plan, the amount you can ask for changes from the following week, up or down with the plan. Anything you already owe stays owing.
How it is paid back
What you pay back is taken from your next week's Uber earnings that reach Detour, in one payment. You agree to Detour taking it from those earnings and paying Pronto Loans.
If your earnings that week are not enough to cover it, we will contact you first. What happens to an amount that is not paid on time is set by your credit agreement with Pronto Loans.
If you stop driving with an amount still owing, it remains owing, and we may take it from any earnings that later reach us for you. We will contact you first.
What you agree to
- Give true and complete details when you ask, and tell us when they change.
- Tell us if you stop driving on the platform your earnings come from.
- Not use somebody else's account, and not let anybody use yours.
- Not ask for a loan you know you cannot pay back from next week's earnings.
Stopping
You may stop asking for Detour Capital at any time. Anything you already owe stays owing until it is paid back.
Detour may stop passing your requests to Pronto Loans, including where these terms or our Terms and Conditions are breached.
If something goes wrong
A complaint about the loan itself, such as the decision, the quotation or the credit agreement, goes first to Pronto Loans. If it is not resolved, the National Credit Regulator and the Credit Ombud are open to you.
A complaint about Detour, such as how we passed on your request or what we collected from your earnings, follows our own Complaints procedure.
