Earn R150 for every driver you bring to Detour
When someone joins with your code and drives with Detour for 30 days in a row, R150 goes into your Detour Driver account. There's no limit on how many people you can refer.

Get your code
Every Detour driver can have one. Open Refer a driver in the Detour app and tap Get my link, or message us on WhatsApp.

Share your link
Send detour.africa/r/ and your code to people who want to drive. They can also type your code when they apply.

They drive 30 days in a row
The 30 days start on their first day on the road with Detour, not the day they apply.

Get paid every month
Once a month, every reward we've confirmed is paid into your Detour Driver account.
What you could earn
100 drivers who stay is R15 000
R150 for each driver, with no cap. Refer 100 people who each drive 30 days in a row, confirmed in the same month, and that month's payment into your account is R15 000.

What counts
The rules, in plain words
- The person you refer has to be new to Detour, and has to use your link or type your code when they apply.
- Their 30 days start on their first day driving with Detour and have to be in a row. If they stop before day 30, that referral doesn't earn a reward. If they come back later, the 30 days start again.
- Your own code doesn't count for you.
- The reward is R150 per driver, with no limit on how many drivers you refer.
- We confirm each driver's 30 days, then pay all your confirmed rewards once a month into your Detour Driver account. You need to be a Detour driver with an active account to be paid.
- The reward is yours. The people you refer join on Detour's normal terms.
FAQ
Questions drivers ask
How do I get my referral code?
In the Detour app: open Refer a driver and tap Get my link. Your account needs to be live first. You get one code, and your own link, detour.africa/r/ and your code, to share from your phone. If you can't use the app, message us on WhatsApp and we'll send it to you.
When does the 30-day count start?
On the day the person you referred starts driving with Detour, not the day they apply. Getting their documents in and starting quickly means you're paid sooner.
What if they stop driving for a while?
The 30 days have to be in a row. If they stop before day 30, that referral doesn't pay. If they come back, the count starts again from their new first day.
When and how am I paid?
Once a month. Every reward we've confirmed that month is added up and paid into your Detour Driver account, where you'll see it with your other payments.
Is there a limit?
No. R150 for every driver who completes 30 days. 100 drivers is R15 000.
Can I check how my referrals are doing?
Yes, in the Detour app. Refer a driver shows everyone who joined with your code, how many of their 30 days they've driven, what's due to you, and each monthly payment. You can also ask us on WhatsApp.
