The weekly fee is charged in advance and is non-refundable.
What each benefit means
- Detour Capital
- On On-The-Go, take R500, pay back R720. On Professional Driver, take R1 000, pay back R1 270. On MyOwnBoss, take R2 500, pay back R2 870. That is what you borrow, plus R120 interest and fees, plus your plan's weekly subscription, and you pay it all back in one week, from your next week's Uber earnings. After that week your subscription carries on as normal. Once it is paid back, you can ask again whenever you need it, while your subscription is active. It is paid into your Detour Drive Account, which you open in the driver app.
- AA Stand-by-you service
- A driver sent to you, and the car brought home, when you cannot drive it yourself. The distance covered depends on your plan.
- Mobility Vouchers
- What a voucher costs is confirmed before you sign up.
- Data-free apps
- Detour zero-rates all three, so navigating and staying online doesn't eat the data you paid for.
- Armed response
- An armed response unit to the car when you raise a panic, wherever you are parked.

- The dual-facing camera at a Detour rate. Footage is what settles an accusation that would otherwise be your word against a rider's.
- Telephonic legal advice
- A lawyer on the phone when something happens on the road and you need to know where you stand before you say anything.
- Technical advice
- Someone who knows cars, on the phone, before you authorise a repair you are not sure the car needs.
- AA roadside patrol assistance, with towing at a reduced rate
- AA South Africa out to the car when it stops, and a patrol to get it going at the roadside. If it cannot be got going, the tow is yours to pay at a reduced AA rate.
- AA roadside assistance, with tow and patrol
- AA South Africa out to the car when it stops, a patrol to get it going and a tow when it will not, so a breakdown is not a week off the road. A tow after an accident runs through the insurer instead.

Mobility Vouchers to carry you over until payday. Fill up at any major station. No cash. No upfront payment.
As a Driver, you will earn R100 from every driver you refer who buys at least R400 of fuel with Mobility Vouchers.
