Financier credit agreement
Where credit is involved, whose credit it is, and what Detour's part is.
Effective October 23, 2026
Back to all legal documentsDetour Capital is a short-term payday loan from Pronto Loans, a registered credit provider (NCRCP 10240). Read Pronto Loans' terms and conditions.
Detour Holdings t/a Detour Limited (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2025/819492/07 ("Detour"), is NOT a registered credit provider under the National Credit Act, 34 of 2005.
Detour does not lend its own money, does not grant credit, does not set the interest or fees on a loan, and does not enter into a credit agreement with any driver or owner. Where you take credit, it comes from a registered credit provider.
Detour Capital is credit. It is a short-term payday loan from Pronto Loans, a registered credit provider (NCRCP 10240), which you pay back in one week with R120 interest and fees and your R150 Detour subscription. Detour sends your request to Pronto Loans and collects the repayment from your next week's Uber earnings. See the Detour Capital terms.
Where credit does arise
Detour Capital is one place credit arises. Another is a driver who wants to build towards owning a vehicle. In both, the credit comes from a registered credit provider, not from Detour. Where that happens:
- The credit agreement is between you and that provider. Detour is not a party to it.
- That provider is responsible for the affordability assessment, the pre-agreement quotation, the cost of credit and everything else the National Credit Act requires of a credit provider.
- Detour's role is to introduce you, to pass on information you have asked us to pass on and, for Detour Capital, to collect the repayment from your earnings and pay it to the provider.
- Detour does not decide whether you are approved, does not set the rate or the term, and cannot change them.
You should read that provider's agreement, and you are entitled to a pre-agreement quotation from them before you sign anything.
What detour is paid for an introduction
Where Detour receives a fee or a commission from a credit provider for introducing you, we will tell you that before you sign with them, and we will tell you who pays it. We will not take a fee from you for the introduction itself.
Detour gives no advice
Detour is not a financial services provider and does not give financial advice. Nothing said to you by Detour or anybody at Detour is advice about whether to take credit, about a particular credit agreement, or about whether you can afford one.
If you want advice, speak to somebody authorised to give it.
If something goes wrong
A complaint about a credit agreement goes first to the credit provider who granted it, under their complaints process. If it is not resolved, the National Credit Regulator and the Credit Ombud are open to you.
A complaint about Detour, about what we told you or how we introduced you, follows our own Complaints procedure.
